THE COLOUR SHE WORE

She woke up today and smiled my way
She told me where she was
She don't want to stay
Now I will see no more the colour that she wore

She turned 'round today veiled in gray
I couldn't see her hair
The field where I'd lay
Now I miss even more the colour that she wore

The colour she wore was green
She said it means that I am part of everything

She brought me the sun and warmed me through
I want to love her all but what can I do
No she could give no more the colour that she wore

Every colour's hers so swallow your pretty words
She'll wrap you up and send you off to sleep

The colour she wore was blue
The spacecraft photograph proved it was true

She woke up today and smiled my way
She told me where she was
She don't want to stay
Now I will see no more the colour that she wore
Now I miss even more the colour that she wore
